Meet Barbara

As a child I was thrown into my first “foreign” language when my family and I moved to the South of Germany. I had to learn the Swabian dialect.  But during my life I learned a couple of real foreign languages: starting with Latin in school, I learned English and French, later at university I studied Spanish and Farsi. Right now I am on my 6 foreign language by studying Portuguese.

I know how it feels not being able to express myself in another language. I can have the best professional skills but if I cannot communicate the right way my colleagues won’t see that I am a knowledgeable partner to discuss problems with. Let us change that and turn frustration into success.

In my classes I make it fun, without neglecting talking about the grammar and working on all 4 skills, like reading, listening, writing and speaking. By customizing my classes I enforce that area of the student which needs some work and we concentrate on that. As a language learner you always get what you want. Through giving me feedback we evaluate the progress and realign the my teaching so that I  meet your goals in every lesson I teach.

My students love my online classes because it is eclectic. Grammar is taught to be able to talk and then we instantly put it to use by talking and speaking about current events. My approach to language is a communicative approach, speaking almost always in the target language to train the ear of the student to the German sounds. We train our listening and speaking skills a lot by telling stories, talking and discussing current political and cultural events. German for Professionals addresses to Professionals of all areas. We’ll work together on the specific vocabulary of that area and train the student to be able to communicate in his professional field.
