Hi, I’m Barbara Stauch. I grew up in Germany, surrounded by the language and culture I love.
Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of learners rediscover their German voice - especially those who learned some German growing up but never felt confident speaking it.
My mission is simple: to help you speak from the heart, not from a textbook.

My consulting business involves providing cross-cultural management coaching to senior executives, engineers, logistics specialists and the like who are coming from abroad with their families to work in the United States for several years. In particular, for the last seventeen years, I have worked as the senior consultant in this field for Volkswagen of America at their various locations throughout the United States.
I speak German pretty well, having lived, studied and worked there on several occasions. I felt I needed to ensure that my proficiency in German, especially business German, was up to full standard and up to date for my clients.
I have taken a series of lessons in advanced German with Ms. Barbara Tauch, who was referred to me by the Chattanooga School of Language. Barbara Stauch gave me exactly the kind of instruction I needed, accompanied by useful exercises for homework. She took care to tailor her lessons to my particular needs, for example, terms in engineering and energy, and financial expressions. In addition, she gave me simple techniques for remembering certain grammar rules and practices that I found very useful.
Her teaching style is lively and I found every lesson valuable. I speak several other languages, so I have had teachers for all of these. My native language happens to be French, and I found that she has a very good accent and knowledge of French too!
